Police Bust Suspected Baby Factory in Ogun, Rescue Pregnant Women and Children

The Ogun State Police Command has uncovered a suspected baby factory operating in the Mowe area of the state, rescuing two pregnant women and four children while arresting six suspects linked to the operation.

The breakthrough followed an intelligence-driven operation carried out by officers attached to the Mowe Division at a location in Abaren Village, where authorities suspected illegal child trafficking and adoption activities were taking place.

During the raid, security operatives rescued two expectant mothers and recovered four children from the premises. Several individuals, including an alleged nurse connected to the operation, were taken into custody for questioning.

Investigators later traced another victim to a hospital within the Mowe area, where she had recently delivered a baby. However, concerns arose after the newborn could not be immediately located, prompting further investigations and the arrest of a medical worker believed to have information about the child’s whereabouts.

Police authorities described the operation as a major step in the fight against human trafficking and child exploitation in the state. The case has since been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department for a comprehensive investigation aimed at uncovering the full scope of the syndicate’s activities and locating the missing infant.

The Commissioner of Police commended officers involved in the operation and reiterated the command’s commitment to tackling human trafficking, child trading and other criminal activities.

Residents were also encouraged to remain vigilant and provide useful information that could assist security agencies in combating crime and protecting vulnerable members of society.
