Police Nab 2 Cable Vandals In Ikoyi
Police operatives have nabbed two suspected vandals who attempted to steal armoured cables in Ikoyi, Lagos State.
This was disclosed in a statement on Monday afternoon by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, Police Spokesperson.
“Officials of Rapid Response Squad (RRS) have arrested two cable vandals attempting to cut armoured cables in Ikoyi, Lagos.
“The suspects, Wasiu Olainukan (25) and Habib Rasaq (30), were arrested on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at about 3:45 a.m. while excavating and cutting cables powering street lights in the area.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that the suspects, who were arrested with a handsaw and cutting pliers, were labourers on Banana Island.
“The Commander, Rapid Response Squad, CSP Olayinka Egbeyemi has since transferred the suspects and exhibits to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) Panti for further investigation and prosecution”, the statement read.
