Police Recover Nine Bodies Following Suspected Bandit Attack in Niger State

The Niger State Police Command has confirmed the recovery of nine bodies along the Wawa-Lumma road in Borgu Local Government Area following a suspected bandit attack.

The victims, believed to be travellers, were ambushed and killed along the route.

Police Public Relations Officer, SP Wasiu Abiodun, stated on Wednesday that a combined tactical team of police and military personnel was dispatched to the scene after receiving reports of the incident on Tuesday.

“Police and military tactical teams were mobilised to the scene; the bodies recovered, while clearance operation was intensified to secure the area,” SP Abiodun said.

Security forces have expanded operations across the axis to eliminate criminal elements and restore safety along the corridor.
