Police Rescue Two Cable Thieves From Angry Mob In Lagos
Two unnamed men were on Tuesday rescued from an angry mob after they were caught stealing generator cables.
The incident occurred in the Yaba area of Lagos State.
This was disclosed by Police Public Relations Officer in the state, ASP Benjamin Hundeyin in a short tweet on Tuesday afternoon.
He added that but for the intervention of police officers, the two suspects would have been lynched.
He then urged the public to stop taking laws into their hands.
“These two were caught in the act of stealing generator cables somewhere in Yaba and were beaten black and blue by an angry mob.
“The police rescued them from lynching. Investigation has commenced. Don’t take laws into your hands. Stop jungle justice!”, the tweet read.
