Police Rescue Two Colombian Women from Human Trafficking Syndicate in Lagos

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have rescued two Colombian women allegedly trafficked into Nigeria and held against their will by a suspected transnational human trafficking network.

The rescue operation was carried out after intelligence reports indicated that the victims had been lured into the country under false pretences and confined by members of the syndicate, who reportedly seized their travel documents.

Acting on the information, security operatives launched a targeted operation that led to the discovery of the victims at a location in Lagos. The women were safely rescued, while the suspected traffickers fled the area before arrests could be made.

Authorities said investigations are ongoing, with efforts intensified to identify, locate, and apprehend all individuals connected to the trafficking network.

The rescued women are currently receiving support and protection as arrangements are being made for their safe return to their home country.

The police reaffirmed their commitment to combating human trafficking and other forms of transnational crime through cooperation with international law enforcement agencies and strengthened intelligence-sharing efforts.
