President Bola Tinubu has appointed Dr. Wasiu Olanrewaju-Smart as Special Adviser to the President on National Assembly Matters (House of Representatives).

The appointment, announced on Sunday by Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, takes immediate effect.

His extensive legislative background includes roles as Research and Media Assistant to the House Leadership, as well as Special Adviser, Deputy Chief of Staff, and Chief of Staff to the Speaker in the 9th and 10th Assemblies. He also contributed to key public policy projects, including research on the Interest-Free Student Loan Act.

Olanrewaju-Smart holds a doctorate in Educational Management from Lead City University, a Master’s in Public Administration from Harvard Kennedy School, and certifications from the London School of Public Relations, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Quantum Alliance AI.

The Presidency expressed confidence that Olanrewaju-Smart will leverage his public policy expertise and legislative experience to enhance coordination and foster stronger relations between the executive arm, federal agencies, and the House of Representatives.
