President Tinubu Commends Wike’s Diligence at Infrastructure Commissioning in Abuja

President Bola Tinubu has lauded the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, for his tireless work ethic, describing him as an administrator who “does not sleep until the job is done.”
The President made these remarks on Wednesday while commissioning the newly completed Collector Road C01 and its accompanying bridge in the Institution and Research District of the FCT. Represented by Vice President Kashim Shettima, the President noted that the project is a testament to the administration’s commitment to delivering on its promises and accelerating national development.
Addressing the audience, the President emphasized that infrastructure remains a primary driver of economic growth. He noted that the new road, which serves key educational and research institutions, will significantly boost investment and accessibility in the area.
“When you build roads, you open up districts. When you open up districts, you invite investment. And when investment comes, Nigeria grows,” the President stated. He added that the ongoing transformation of the nation’s capital serves as a model that the current administration aims to replicate across the entire country.
During the event, Minister Wike noted that the inauguration marked the 21st project commissioned in the FCT under his leadership. He expressed gratitude to President Tinubu for the financial support and administrative flexibility—specifically the removal of the FCT from the Treasury Single Account—which he credited for the improved speed and efficiency in project delivery.
The newly constructed road features modern amenities, including an underground drainage system and solar-powered streetlights. The project was initiated following a plea from the Body of Benchers regarding traffic congestion near the Nigerian Law School. Government officials noted that the successful completion of the road within months is a clear indicator of the administration’s “Renewed Hope” agenda in action.
