President Trump to Attend World Cup Final and Present Trophy
FIFA President Gianni Infantino has confirmed that United States President Donald Trump will attend the 2026 World Cup final in New Jersey on July 19.
During an interview on Tuesday, Infantino announced that President Trump is scheduled to join him on the pitch to jointly present the championship trophy to the winning team.
The announcement follows a period of close cooperation between FIFA and the U.S. administration, which included the President receiving a special FIFA peace prize during the tournament’s draw in Washington last year.
This upcoming appearance marks the President’s return to the center of a major international football ceremony, following a high-profile appearance at last year’s Club World Cup final in New Jersey. During that event, President Trump presented the trophy to the winning club and joined the players on stage during their post-match celebrations.
