President Trump Unveils Limited-Edition ‘Patriot Passport’ for U.S. 250th Anniversary

President Donald Trump has revealed a design for a new, limited-edition U.S. passport created to commemorate the nation’s upcoming 250th anniversary of independence. The commemorative travel document features a prominent portrait of the President and reflects a design aesthetic deeply tied to his administration.
The passport rendering, which Trump shared via his Truth Social platform, displays an image of a stern-faced President leaning over his desk, accompanied by his signature. The background of the design incorporates text from the Declaration of Independence, while the facing page includes a depiction of the document’s signing in 1776, labeled “United States of America 250.”
The White House has officially referred to the design as the “Patriot Passport.”
While the State Department announced in April that a commemorative passport featuring “custom artwork” would be available starting July 6, the agency has not yet provided additional details regarding the specifics of the design or the scope of its distribution. At the time of the initial announcement, officials noted that these specialized documents would only be available through in-person appointments in Washington, D.C., and would be limited in supply.
This unveiling is the latest instance of President Trump integrating his personal branding into federal institutions and government materials. Recent actions have included placing presidential banners on government buildings and announcements from the Treasury Department indicating that his signature will soon be featured on U.S. one-dollar bills.
With this move, Trump becomes the first sitting U.S. president to be featured directly on an American travel document. The move follows other high-profile attempts to leave a personal mark on public landmarks, such as the addition of his name to the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts a change that was eventually reversed following a court ruling.
