RCCG to Empower 8,400 Nigerians with Free Digital Skills for Adeboye’s 84th Birthday

The Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Continent 3, has launched an initiative to train 8,400 Nigerians in free digital skills as part of activities marking the 84th birthday of the General Overseer, Pastor Enoch Adeboye.

The programme is designed to equip youths, church members, and the general public with practical, income-generating digital competencies. Organisers state it is a direct response to rising unemployment and the growing opportunities within the global digital economy.

The training is being coordinated by Love Transformation Academy, the empowerment arm of RCCG Love Assembly, Lagos Province 1, in partnership with Faith Cometh Multimedia Consultants. Courses will be offered across various RCCG parishes within Continent 3.

Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Sunday, the Continent 3 Overseer, Pastor Johnson Odesola, described the initiative as a reflection of the church’s commitment to both spiritual and socio-economic development.

“This digital empowerment programme is our practical contribution to national development. It is designed not only to celebrate our father in the Lord at 84 but also to invest in people in a way that creates lasting value,” Odesola said.

He noted that the church recognises the urgent need to prepare young Nigerians for opportunities in the digital space. “We are empowering 8,400 participants with relevant digital and entrepreneurial skills that can open doors to employment, freelancing and business ownership. This is in line with our Vision 2032 agenda for growth and transformation.”

Participants will receive training in high-demand fields such as video editing, graphic design, digital marketing, social media management, animation, and content creation, including strategies for monetisation. All courses will be delivered free of charge on a first-come, first-served basis.

To ensure broad access, RCCG parishes across regions, provinces, and zones within Continent 3 will serve as study centres. Training sessions will be broadcast via Zoom, allowing participants to gather at their local parishes while receiving centralised instruction.

“This decentralised model ensures digital inclusion,” Odesola explained. “Beyond the technical skills, participants will receive mentorship, follow-up support and opportunities for integration into community-based projects. The programme is open to everyone, including non-church members.”

Pastor Richard Ayibiowu, the initiative’s Coordinator, framed the programme as a faith-driven response to current economic challenges. “We believe the Church must not only preach hope but also create platforms that make hope practical,” he said. “By equipping individuals with monetisable digital skills, we are helping them build sustainable income pathways and contribute meaningfully to society.”

Ayibiowu added that pastors and church leaders across all regions have been mobilised to publicise the programme and facilitate registration through designated study centres.

The empowerment scheme is a flagship event in the celebrations for Pastor Adeboye’s 84th birthday, underscoring his long-standing emphasis on youth development and national transformation. Organisers expect the programme to create new employment and freelance opportunities, foster digital entrepreneurs, and expand the church’s social impact through skills development.

Registration details are available at RCCG administrative offices across Continent 3.
