Recruitment Board Clarifies Dress Code and Document Rules for Paramilitary Medical Screening

The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a public clarification stating that there is no mandated dress code for candidates participating in the upcoming medical screening exercise for its 2025 recruitment cycle.

In a public notice released by the board’s Head of Press, Mrs. Okeh Juliet, the agency advised shortlisted applicants to attend their designated screening centers in standard, decent attire. The board explicitly warned candidates to ignore any fraudulent or third-party communications directing them to purchase or wear specific uniform outfits for the exercise.

Furthermore, the board instructed candidates to leave their academic and professional credentials at home, clarifying that no physical document verification will take place during this specific phase of the recruitment process.

The nationwide medical screening is scheduled to officially commence on Monday, June 22, 2026. This stage follows a mandatory online window where candidates logged into the recruitment portal to confirm their shortlisting status and select their preferred screening dates and venues.

The highly competitive 2025 recruitment drive initially drew over 1.9 million applications across the country for positions within the Nigeria Correctional Service (NCoS), Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS), Federal Fire Service (FFS), and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC). Out of those initial applicants, roughly 1.12 million progressed to sit for the Computer-Based Test (CBT) in November 2025, from which the final pool of thousands was shortlisted for the medical evaluation phase.

The CDCFIB urged all prospective candidates to rely strictly on official government channels for updates to avoid falling victim to recruitment scams.
