Resident Doctors Decry Understaffing, Unpaid Arrears at LAUTECH Teaching Hospital

Resident doctors at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology Teaching Hospital have appealed for urgent intervention over worsening working conditions.

Under the Association of Resident Doctors, the doctors said they are battling severe understaffing, unpaid minimum-wage arrears, unfulfilled allowance promises, and dilapidated call rooms.

They also called for proper funding of medical residency training. The doctors warned that the poor conditions are affecting staff welfare and dignity, and could compromise quality of patient care.

The association has urged the Oyo State Government, hospital management and other stakeholders to act swiftly to address the issues and improve conditions at the hospital.
