Rivers 2027: Wike Dismisses Amaechi’s Chances, Says Results Predetermined
The federal Capital Territory Minister and Rainbow Coalition leader, Nyesom Wike, has said African Democratic Congress, ADC, cannot secure victory in Rivers State during upcoming general elections, claiming electoral outcomes in state will continue to be predetermined.
Wike spoke Saturday, October 3 at gathering organized by Uzugbani Ekpeye in Ahoada East and West Local Government Areas, where he dismissed political prospects of his former ally and current ADC vice-presidential candidate, Chibuike Amaechi.
Minister challenged voters to assess candidates based on verifiable track records rather than political rhetoric, while pointing to Amaechi’s historical electoral performance since their political parting.
Recalling past collaboration, Wike noted he managed Amaechi’s successful 2011 gubernatorial campaign but argued former governor has since failed to secure meaningful electoral support independently.
“I was the DG of the campaign in 2011… Now, since I left him in 2011, after 2011, mention one election that he has ever won,” Wike said, referencing subsequent election cycles where Amaechi’s faction or preferred candidates failed to deliver state.
“So, from 2011, when he became second time governor, down to now, result has been written, then let him forget it. Result will always be written; he will not win again,” he said.
