Rivers Governor Orders Immediate Jobs for Fallen Soldiers’ Children

Rivers State Governor, Siminalayi Fubara, has directed the immediate employment of the children of servicemen who died in the line of duty.
The governor issued the directive on Thursday during the 2026 Armed Forces Remembrance Day ceremony in Port Harcourt. He instructed the Secretary to the State Government, Dr. Benibo Anabraba, to implement the order without delay.
“This is part of our way of showing socio-economic support to the families,” Fubara stated, underscoring the state’s commitment to supporting military families and veterans.
Governor Fubara also commended the sacrifices of troops across Nigeria and praised President Bola Tinubu’s efforts to strengthen the military through improved welfare and equipment.
Earlier, the state’s chapter of the Nigerian Legion thanked the governor for his support, including a donation of ₦100 million to the 2026 Emblem Appeal Fund.
