Russian Missile Attacks on Kyiv Leave Nine Dead and Over Two Dozen Injured

At least nine people were killed and 28 others injured, including four children, following a wave of Russian ballistic missile strikes targeting the Ukrainian capital of Kyiv. Emergency services confirmed that the strikes damaged residential structures and vehicles across five city districts, triggering widespread fires.

The attack resulted in significant casualties across multiple areas, with seven deaths reported in the Darnytsky district and two in the Solomiansky district, where a five-storey residential building sustained severe damage. State emergency personnel reported that over 100 residents were rescued from damaged properties as emergency crews worked through the rubble.

Russia’s Ministry of Defence acknowledged the operation, stating it conducted a broad strike directed at logistics facilities and military-industrial targets within the Kyiv region. In response to the escalating aerial bombardment, Ukrainian officials renewed calls for international partners to provide additional air defense systems and interceptors to protect civilian infrastructure.

Concurrently, Russian defense officials reported intercepting 274 Ukrainian drones overnight, amid retaliatory strikes that caused a fire at a major logistics center in Volgograd.
