Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Backs PDP Candidate Ahead of Ekiti Governorship Election

Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, has endorsed Dr. Oluwole Oluyede, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the upcoming Ekiti State governorship election. She described him as a capable, grassroots-oriented leader equipped to foster inclusive governance and sustainable development.
The endorsement was announced during the final rally of the PDP governorship campaign in Ado-Ekiti on Sunday, in preparation for the election scheduled for June 20, 2026. According to a statement issued by her media aide, Mike Idoko, the lawmaker spent several days touring local communities to drum up grassroots support for the party’s candidate.
Addressing party loyalists and members of the Ebira community resident in Ekiti, Akpoti-Uduaghan emphasized that Oluyede possesses the requisite vision, experience, and integrity to address the state’s socio-economic challenges. She highlighted his commitment to establishing an inclusive administration that ensures equal opportunities and fair representation for all ethnic, religious, and social groups.
With the polls just days away, the senator expressed strong confidence in the analytical capacity of the Ekiti electorate, describing them as politically enlightened voters capable of choosing a progressive future.
As part of her mobilization campaign, Akpoti-Uduaghan visited several settlements, including Ikole-Ekiti and Ilasa, urging eligible voters to participate peacefully and actively in the democratic process to secure meaningful leadership for the state.
