Sixteen Rescued After Residential Building Collapse in Kano State

Emergency responders have rescued 16 people alive after a residential building collapsed at Dan Dishe, Kwanar Yashi in the Fagge Local Government Area of Kano State on Saturday.

Among those pulled from the rubble, three individuals were recovered unconscious.

The Kano State Fire Service confirmed the incident, stating that its Emergency Response Unit received a distress call at approximately 4:32 a.m. Emergency teams from the headquarters were immediately dispatched to the scene, where a 20 by 30-foot residential structure had caved in.

Following the rescue operation, all 16 victims were handed over to family representative Usman Ibrahim for immediate care and further medical attention.

An investigation is currently underway to determine the structural cause of the collapse. In light of the incident, the Kano State Fire Service has urged members of the public to strictly observe safety precautions and check building integrity, particularly during the ongoing rainy season to prevent similar occurrences.
