Sokoto Man Kidnaps 7-year-old Neigbour’s Son, Collects N4m Ransom

Operatives of the Sokoto Police Command has arrested one Haliru Riskuwa, a resident of Arkilla state low-cost in Wamakko local government area over alleged conspiracy and kidnapping.
Riskuwa was alleged to have connived with three members of his gang and abducted a seven years old son of their neighbour and only released him after collecting the sum of N4 million as ransom.
Briefing newsmen on Tuesday, the Commissioner of Police, Muhammad Useini Gumel, said that the suspects had during interrogation confessed to the Police on how he conspired alongside with his other gang members and committed the crime.
“According to him, he committed the Crime along with one Abdullahi Umar from Plateau state and Faruku Usman Binji from Binji local government area of Sokoto State.
“All the suspects are in Police custody except Faruk Usman Binji who is still at large.
“So far, N2.5 million have been recovered as exhibit from the suspects,” he said.
The police also arrested some suspected bandits, armed robbers and car snatchers as well as recovered arms and stolen vehicles.
They also neutralized one bandits in Gwadabawa local government of the state.
