Super Eagles’ Adams Dedicates First AFCON Goal to Hospitalized Mother

Super Eagles striker Akor Adams revealed his mother was hospitalized on the day of Nigeria’s 4-0 Africa Cup of Nations victory over Mozambique, dedicating his first tournament goal to her.
Adams, who opened his AFCON account in the 70th minute, provided an assist and was instrumental in another goal during the round-of-16 clash. Speaking after the match, the 25-year-old shared that his mother was supposed to attend the game.
“Glory to God for scoring my first AFCON goal… But the goal is dedicated to my mum,” Adams stated. “She’s supposed to be here, but she’s in the hospital right now. She was admitted this morning, but she’s much better now.”
The goal brings Adams’ international tally to three goals and three assists in eight appearances since his debut last October.
