Tambuwal Calls for Change in Government, Urges Nigerians to Vote Out Tinubu in 2027

Former Speaker of the House of Representatives and former Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has called on Nigerians to unite and vote out the current administration in the 2027 general elections.
Tambuwal issued this call on Wednesday in Sokoto while formally welcoming the immediate past Chairman of Tangaza Local Government Area, Isa Salihu Bashir Kalanjeni, into the African Democratic Congress (ADC). Kalanjeni had recently resigned his position and defected from the All Progressives Congress (APC).
During the event, Tambuwal criticized the federal government’s handling of national security and the economy. He specifically highlighted rising insecurity in parts of Sokoto State, citing recent attacks on communities as evidence that the current leadership has failed to address the country’s stability. He urged citizens to leverage constitutional and democratic processes to bring about a change in leadership.
Welcoming the former council chairman, Tambuwal praised Kalanjeni for what he described as a courageous decision. He noted that while many politicians are hesitant to leave the ruling party due to political pressure, those prioritizing national interest over personal gain are increasingly gravitating toward the ADC.
Tambuwal further addressed the political climate in the state, asserting that the ADC continues to gain influence despite alleged efforts by the ruling establishment to undermine the party. He encouraged his supporters to remain disciplined and avoid inflammatory rhetoric, emphasizing that the party’s focus should remain on peaceful advocacy and the best interests of the public.
Kalanjeni was received into the party by Tambuwal, alongside the ADC’s Sokoto State governorship candidate, Manir Muhammad Dan’Iya, and other party leaders. His defection is seen as part of ongoing political realignments in the state as preparations intensify ahead of the next election cycle.
