Teenager stabs university student to death during party in Niger State

A 25-year-old student of the Federal University of Education (FUE) in Kontagora, Seyi Simon, has been stabbed to death by an 18-year-old suspect, Jafar Musa, during a social gathering.

The incident occurred on Easter Sunday at the school hall in the Kontagora Local Government Area of Niger State. The event was a party organised by students to welcome newly admitted students to the institution.

According to available information, a disagreement broke out between Musa, a resident of the Angwan-Gwari area of Kontagora, and Simon. The dispute escalated into a physical fight, during which Musa allegedly used a dagger to stab Simon.

The victim was rushed to the general hospital in Kontagora, where he was pronounced dead.

Musa was promptly arrested by the police and remains in custody as investigations continue.

The Niger State Police Command confirmed that the incident was reported in the early hours of April 5, 2026, and that the suspect is being held for further inquiry.
