Tinubu Extends Tenure of NTA, NAN Chief Executives by Three Years

President Bola Tinubu has approved a three-year tenure extension for the Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), Abdulhamid Salihu Dembos, and the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), Ali Mohammed Ali.

The renewed appointments will take effect from October 20, 2026, following the expiration of their initial three-year terms.

Dembos, a seasoned broadcaster and media administrator, has held several leadership positions within the NTA during his career, including overseeing key stations and regional operations. He also previously served as a senior executive within the organisation.

Ali, an experienced journalist and media manager, has spent more than three decades in the media industry and is widely recognised for his contributions to journalism, content development, and media innovation.

The Presidency said the tenure renewal reflects confidence in the leadership of both media executives and their contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s public media institutions.

President Tinubu urged the two chief executives to remain committed to their organisations’ mandates and continue supporting efforts aimed at advancing national development and effective information dissemination.
