Tinubu’s City Boy Movement Executive, Caught On Camera Wielding Machete During Attack On Sowore, AAC Team In Ekiti

A man reportedly affiliated with the City Boy Movement and identified as one of its executives, and a thug accused of having the backing of Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, has been captured on camera wielding a machete during the October 30, 2026, attack on African Action Congress (AAC) presidential candidate and human rights activist, Omoyele Sowore, and members of his team in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State.

In a video obtained by Afrika Eyes, the thug wearing a green T-shirt and a white cap, was seen holding and swinging a machete as he and other suspected attackers descended on Sowore and members of his team.Read Daily News

The footage shows the suspected attackers assaulting people during the incident, while another disturbing scene captures a police officer on the right-hand side being stripped of his clothing by some of the attackers.

The video provides fresh visual evidence that could help identify individuals involved in the violent attack and establish their respective roles in the incident.

Sowore confirmed the emergence of the footage in a statement on Sunday night, describing it as a major breakthrough in efforts to identify those responsible for the attack.

He said the newly obtained video showed the faces of individuals who participated in the October 30 assault on him, AAC members and other members of his team.

According to Sowore, the development came amid allegations that crucial CCTV recordings from Tawakalitu Restaurant, where the incident occurred, had been erased after security operatives seized the recording equipment.

Sowore explained that police officers and operatives of the Department of State Services (DSS) took possession of the CCTV equipment and transported it to the Government House before returning it to the restaurant management on Sunday evening without the recorded footage.

He further disclosed that he had contacted the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police, Michael Falade; the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Ado-Ekiti Central Police Station, Mustapha Mohammed; and the commander of the state’s Rapid Response Squad (RRS) to demand updates on the investigation.

However, he stated that the officers claimed there was no complainant because he had not submitted a written statement, despite the fact that police operatives had rescued the victims, taken them to hospital, arrested suspects and recovered weapons, stolen phones and other devices.

Sowore said he challenged the officers over the whereabouts of the stolen phones traced electronically to locations around the Governor’s Lodge and the missing CCTV recordings.

He claimed the officers denied knowledge of the issues and abruptly ended the conversations.

Meanwhile, Sowore said the management of Tawakalitu Restaurant reportedly confirmed that a DPO returned the CCTV equipment but that the recordings had been completely wiped.

He added that the restaurant management declined to identify the officer who returned the equipment.

Describing the development as a coordinated cover-up, Sowore called for an independent investigation into the incident and demanded the removal of the Ekiti State Commissioner of Police and other officers he accused of compromising the investigation.
