Troops Kil 41 ISWAP Fighters In Borno

Troops of Operation Hadin Kai and the Civilian Joint Task Force (CJTF) have killed 41 fighters of the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in Dikwa LGA of Borno.
In a report by Zagazola Makama, a counter-insurgency publication focused on the Lake Chad region, Abu Zahra, a top ISWAP commander, was among the killed fighters.
The publication further reported that the operation which was led by Shaibu Waidi, the general officer commanding of the 7 division, was in response to attacks by the ISWAP on Mukdolo village.
“The terrorist Commander, (Amir Jaysh) Abu Mohammed, in company of few fighters reportedly fled in disarray due to the superior firepower from the soldiers, thus abandoning their properties worth millions of naira in the terrorists’ house which were destroyed by the troops,” the publication said.
A gun truck, three motorcycles, and several other military equipment were recovered from the insurgents.
