Trump Issues Ultimatum to Iran: Accept Deal or Face Intensified Bombing

President Donald Trump has issued a stark ultimatum to Iran, demanding acceptance of a deal to end the ongoing war or else face renewed and more intense US bombing.
In a post on his Truth Social platform on Wednesday, Trump said that if Iran agrees to the terms already discussed, the US military campaign dubbed “Epic Fury” would come to an end. However, he warned that if Tehran refuses, bombing would commence at a far higher level of intensity than before.
The president’s warning followed reports by a US news outlet that Washington and Tehran were nearing agreement on a one-page memorandum of understanding aimed at ending the war and creating a framework for broader nuclear negotiations.
Trump had announced a pause in a US military operation designed to guide stranded commercial ships through the Strait of Hormuz, just one day after it began. He cited a potential breakthrough in sealing a deal with Iran.
The US leader confirmed that Washington’s blockade of Iranian ports would remain in place, as Iran continues its own closure of the strategic waterway. The standoff has already disrupted global markets and driven up fuel prices.
Trump explained that the decision to halt the operation referred to as “Project Freedom” followed requests from Pakistan and other countries acting as mediators. He noted that significant progress had been made toward a complete and final agreement with Tehran.
While the blockade stays fully enforced, the pause in Project Freedom will last for a short period to allow time for the possible finalisation and signing of the deal, Trump added.
