Trump signs executive orders, pardons for Jan. 6 rioters

President Donald Trump signed several executive orders after addressing a crowd of his supporters.

He also signed eight executive orders which included rescinding 78 of Biden’s executive actions.

Trump also signed an order to put a freeze on hiring federal employees and another requiring all federal employees to return to work in-person.

Brent Smith, a partner at Johns, Flaherty & Collins, said legal action could prevent some orders from going into effect right away.

“I don’t think you’re going to see something happen today, tomorrow just because of this, because I think there are going to be challenges,” said Smith.

“The argument would be it exceeds the authority granted in the constitution or it’s not constitutional as to what the President did. We’ve seen those lawsuits in almost every administration and I’m sure it’s going to be the same with at least some of the ones form President Trump.”

Following his speech, Trump returned to the White house to sign more order including pardons for individuals involved in the Jan 6. Capitol Riot.

The White House has a full list of Trump’s presidential actions on their website.
