Trustfund Pensions Hits N1.54tn Asset Threshold, Outlines N2tn Target for 2026

Trustfund Pensions Limited has reported growing its Assets Under Management (AUM) to N1.54tn while disbursing over N23.09bn to pensioners as of December 2025.

The figures were disclosed following the pension fund administrator’s (PFA) 17th Annual General Meeting in Abuja. Speaking at the event, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Trustfund Pensions, Uche Ihechere, outlined plans to push the company’s standalone AUM to N2tn by the end of 2026. He added that an upcoming strategic business combination with a partner entity could elevate total combined assets under management to approximately N4.2tn.

During the 2025 financial year, Trustfund Pensions recorded double-digit expansion across several key metrics. The firm grew its Retirement Savings Account (RSA) registrations by over 63% year-on-year, expanded its total AUM by 25%, and saw total revenue rise by 25%. Profit after tax climbed by more than 68%, supported by a 48% growth in total fund investment income.

Originally inheriting N54.5bn in pension assets from the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) at inception, the PFA has expanded that specific portfolio to nearly N240bn, despite paying out N23.09bn to retirees over time. The firm currently manages over 836,630 RSAs, ranking it among the top three administrators in Nigeria by contributor numbers and within the top seven by asset size.

Chairman of Trustfund Pensions, Shola Olofin, noted that the performance was backed by regulatory compliance and ongoing digital transformation efforts. Additionally, Non-Executive Director Bolaji Balogun confirmed that the company had already met the National Pension Commission’s new regulatory capital requirements following a capital raise completed late last year, positioning the firm for continued expansion in the sector.
