Tyla Drops Lagos Concert From Tour Schedule, Amid Backlash

South African singer Tyla has removed her scheduled Lagos concert from the itinerary of her official A*POP World Tour.
According to checks on Friday, the December 22 date no longer appears among her listed performances. The Lagos show had previously been listed on the tour promotional flier.
The move comes amid a boycott campaign by some Nigerians over alleged xenophobic attacks on Nigerians living in South Africa.
The planned concert had attracted widespread criticism in recent days, with many on social media opposing Tyla’s concert in Nigeria following the reported xenophobic attacks on Nigerians in South Africa.
Despite the change, the Grammy-winning singer is still billed to conclude the A*POP World Tour with performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg in January.
Neither Tyla nor her management has publicly explained the change, and no official statement has been issued confirming the reason for the removal of the Lagos show from the tour schedule.
