UK Passport Intervention Reaches Nearly 9,000 Nigerians As 214 Enrol On Day 21

Nearly 9,000 Nigerians in the United Kingdom have now been enrolled under the Special Passport Intervention Exercise, with another 214 applicants registered on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.
The latest figure brings cumulative enrolment since the intervention began to 8,956 applicants, as the exercise enters its 21st day.
Wednesday’s enrolment was recorded across three centres, with Manchester accounting for 100 applicants, London 65 and Aberdeen 49.
The intervention is providing additional passport enrolment services to Nigerians in the UK, helping applicants access the service through designated centres as authorities continue efforts to process the growing demand.
Beyond enrolment, passport production and dispatch for previously enrolled applicants are continuing unhindered, according to the authorities overseeing the exercise.
The continued production and dispatch mean the intervention is progressing from the registration stage to the delivery of passports to applicants who have already completed their enrolment.
Officials said the exercise remained calm and orderly on Wednesday and continues across the three designated centres.
With the latest 214 applicants, the intervention has now crossed the 8,900 mark, bringing the total number of Nigerians enrolled to 8,956.
