Uniben Staff Commits Suicide Over Financial Difficulties
A University of Benin staff, Carter Oshodin, has committed suicide over financial difficulties.
According to one of his friends, Edward, the deceased had been complaining of his inability to pay his daughter’s school fees while also soliciting financial support from neighbours within the University’s premises.
Edo State Police Command spokesperson said incident was not officially reported at the police station, but added that information on the incident got to the police through the following up of events and processes in the state, and “not that the family of the man who committed suicide reported it officially.
“The case remains unreported to date but we are aware of it because of our interest in following event in the state”he said.
