Wife, 18, Allegedly Stabs Husband in Genitals During Domestic Dispute in Yobe

An 18-year-old woman, Khadija Jamilu, has allegedly stabbed her husband in the genitals during a domestic dispute in Potiskum, Yobe State.
According to a statement from the Yobe State Police Command, the incident occurred in the early hours of Friday, February 6, 2026. Jamilu is said to have attacked her 25-year-old husband with a knife before fleeing the scene.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Dungus Abdulkarim, stated that the victim sustained a deep cut and was rushed to a federal medical centre in Azare, Bauchi State, for treatment.
“Efforts are in top gear to arrest the fleeing suspect, while investigation into the case is ongoing,” Abdulkarim added.
In response to the incident, the Commissioner of Police, Emmanuel Ado, advised couples to resolve conflicts peacefully and avoid violence.
Ado emphasised that marriage should be founded on mutual respect, understanding, and tolerance, urging spouses to seek counselling and mediation when disagreements arise. He warned that resorting to violence often leads to irreversible consequences.
