Zamfara Gov Equips Judiciary, Urges Integrity From Judges

Zamfara State Governor, Dauda Lawal, has distributed official vehicles acquired by his administration to judicial officers in the state as part of efforts to strengthen the judiciary and support effective administration of justice.*
Speaking during the presentation, Lawal said the procurement was one of several interventions aimed at improving the working conditions of judicial officers.
The governor said his administration had also invested in the remodelling, construction and rehabilitation of courts across the state. These include four Small Claims Courts, the Magistrate Court in Samaru, the State High Court and 10 Sharia Courts. He noted that about 90 per cent of the projects have been completed.
Lawal further disclosed that his administration had cleared the backlog of statutory allowances owed to judicial officers for 2022 and 2023. He said more than ₦600 million was spent on accommodation, wardrobe, outfit, medical and furniture allowances.
He urged the beneficiaries to regard the vehicles as tools for public service and called on them to maintain the highest standards of integrity, impartiality and professionalism in carrying out their duties.
