2027: My Alliance With APC Only For Tinubu’s Re-election – Adeleke

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has reaffirmed that his political alliance with the All Progressives Congress, APC, is limited to supporting President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027.
Adeleke made the clarification on Wednesday, October 28, 2026, following reports alleging that he had reached an agreement with the APC to share legislative and local government positions ahead of the general elections.
He dismissed the reports as false, insisting that the alliance was strictly for the presidential election.
The governor said he would continue to support candidates of his party, Accord, contesting seats in the Senate, House of Representatives and Osun State House of Assembly.
He stressed that the political understanding between the coalition partners did not extend to legislative elections, adding that candidates of different parties remained free to campaign for their respective positions.
“I urge all political parties to campaign for their candidates as I will do for Accord candidates,” Adeleke said, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed.
Adeleke also denied claims that he had agreed with the APC to share legislative seats or local government positions in Osun State.
He explained that discussions surrounding the local government crisis were intended to protect the interests of APC chairpersons and elected Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, chairmen and councillors, rather than facilitate a political sharing arrangement.
The governor maintained that all other elective positions would remain open for competition and that the electorate would determine the winners at the polls.
Adeleke recently inaugurated the Osun State Presidential Campaign Council to mobilise support for Tinubu’s re-election.
