1,000 Trucks Load Fuel Daily at Dangote Refinery as Prices Drop

Dangote Refinery has emerged as a major hub for fuel distribution in Nigeria, with over 1,000 fuel trucks loading petrol daily from the facility. The refinery attributes this surge to strategic adjustments aimed at making energy more affordable and accessible, including reducing the pump price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) to N699 per litre and cutting the minimum purchase requirement from 2 million litres to 250,000 litres.

The refinery’s statement said these measures underscore its commitment to stabilising supply, fostering inclusivity, and supporting national economic growth. To further reassure marketers, a 10-day bank guarantee system has been introduced, ensuring uninterrupted supply and strengthening confidence in operations.

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, said the goal is to make energy affordable and accessible for every Nigerian, empowering both large and small marketers to participate in the market. The approach is expected to strengthen distribution networks, improve fuel availability, and drive competition, ensuring Nigerians benefit from a stable and affordable fuel supply chain.

Dangote reaffirmed his commitment to ensuring Nigerians enjoy domestic refining benefits, stating the refinery project is driven by legacy rather than profit. The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria has called on members to patronise the refinery, noting it offers the most affordable prices, with free delivery set to commence in January 2026.
