Kaduna 2026 Budget: Education Gets 25% Allocation

Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani, has signed the ₦985.9 billion 2026 Appropriation Bill into law, with a focus on consolidating achievements and driving sustainable growth.

The budget, dubbed “Budget of Consolidation of Transformation for Inclusive Development,” prioritizes capital investment, allocating ₦698.9 billion (70.9% of the total budget) to infrastructure development, economic expansion, and improved service delivery.

The education sector received the largest allocation, with 25% of the budget, highlighting its critical role in human capital development.

Infrastructure development and rural transformation also got 25%, while health received 15%. Agriculture and food security were allocated 11.65%, with provisions made for climate change mitigation and environmental sustainability.

A key highlight is the allocation of ₦100 million to each ward for community-driven development projects, empowering locals to drive development. Sani assured that the budget involves no new borrowing, having paid ₦114.9 billion in debt servicing. He pledged collaboration with the Kaduna State House of Assembly for successful implementation, positioning Kaduna as Nigeria’s bastion of peace and tranquillity.
