Lagos Breaks Ground for Security Trust Fund Office

Lagos State’s security infrastructure got a boost on Monday as Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu broke ground for the permanent office of the Lagos State Security Trust Fund (LSSTF) in Alausa, Ikeja. The multi-storey building, funded by philanthropist Sir Adebukunola Adebutu Kessington, is expected to be completed by October 2026 and will serve as the agency’s operational headquarters.

Sanwo-Olu stated that the permanent office will enhance LSSTF’s capacity and service delivery, strengthening the state’s security architecture. “LSSTF has been operating from a rented facility for 17 years, and this project will enable the agency to discharge its statutory obligations with professionalism and integrity,” he said.

The governor praised Sir Kessington’s philanthropic gesture, describing it as a demonstration of patriotism that relieved the government of financial burdens.

LSSTF Executive Secretary Dr. Ayodele Ogunsan said the building will significantly improve the agency’s operational efficiency and coordination with security partners.

The facility will be named after Sir Kessington, who described the project as “a call to duty” to support the government in protecting lives and property. The event was attended by government officials, security stakeholders, and private sector partners.
