All Safe as Qatar Airways Flight Makes Emergency Landing in Lagos
A Qatar Airways flight carrying 260 people made a safe emergency landing at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Lagos on Thursday following a technical fault during its journey.
The aircraft, with 248 passengers and 12 crew members on board, landed without incident. Emergency services, including the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), were on standby and ready to respond.
The Permanent Secretary of LASEMA, Dr. Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, confirmed in a statement that no injuries or loss of life occurred. He also noted the aircraft did not sustain significant damage from the incident.
The successful landing and evacuation were the result of coordinated efforts by multiple agencies, including LASEMA, the state’s fire service, and the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN). Following checks, the aircraft was moved to the apron for a full inspection.
