Nigerian Air Force destroys terrorist hideout in Katsina, neutralises several fighters

The Nigerian Air Force has conducted a precision airstrike on a terrorist enclave in Katsina State, destroying a key hideout and neutralising several fighters.

The operation took place on May 1 under the Air Component of Operation Fansan Yamma, targeting a location inside Dan-Aji Forest in Faskari Local Government Area

The targeted site was a known logistics hub linked to a terrorist kingpin, Abasu Aiki, and his fighters operating across the Faskari, Kankara, and Funtua axis.

Intelligence reports had indicated renewed terrorist activities in the area, prompting the strike. Air assets identified armed terrorists on motorcycles along with other fighters within the enclave, after which a coordinated strike was executed.

Battle damage assessment confirmed that several terrorists were neutralised, while the logistics hub and associated structures were destroyed. The strike also triggered explosions and widespread fires, further degrading the group’s operational capacity.

The operation has significantly disrupted terrorist movement and resupply in the area, underscoring the air force’s commitment to denying terrorists safe havens and dismantling their operational networks.
