Two Suspected Robbers Arrested in Benin Hotel After Ugbor Attacks
Operatives of the Edo State Police Command have arrested two suspected members of a ten-man armed robbery gang following a raid on a hotel in Benin City.
The suspects, identified as Mustapha Haruna and Abdulahi Abdulraman, were taken into custody shortly after they and their accomplices allegedly stormed homes in the Ugbor area, making off with valuables.
Residents reported that the gang carted away iPhones, Samsung phones, laptops, a JBL speaker, a power bank, and an undisclosed sum of money during the operation.
Police authorities said the suspects were traced to a hotel where they were arrested, and some of the stolen items were recovered from them.
The Edo State Police Public Relations Officer, Eno Ikoedem, confirmed the development, stating that detectives from the Ugbor Police Station launched a manhunt immediately after the incident was reported.
She added that investigations are still in progress, and efforts are underway to track down other members of the gang who are currently at large.
