Deeper Life not a family inheritance, Kumuyi says
The General Superintendent of the Deeper Christian Life Ministry, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi, has stated that he will not pass the leadership of the church to any of his biological children, clarifying that the ministry belongs to Jesus Christ and not to him.
Speaking during a church service, Kumuyi addressed speculations that he might eventually hand over the church to one of his sons. He noted that some people had questioned whether he would search for a child to succeed him after his tenure.
The cleric firmly dismissed the idea, explaining that the church is not a personal enterprise subject to family succession. He insisted that leadership must follow divine direction rather than bloodline.
Kumuyi referenced biblical figures including Peter, Paul, and John, noting that none of them handed over the church to their children. He concluded that no individual has the right to bequeath the church of Jesus Christ to a family member.
