Kwankwaso and Gwarzo Visit Obasanjo in Kano

Rabiu Kwankwaso, the vice-presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), held a private meeting with former President Olusegun Obasanjo in Kano on Thursday.

Obasanjo, who is currently in the state on an official assignment, hosted Kwankwaso and his delegation at his temporary residence. Kwankwaso was accompanied on the visit by Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, the NDC’s gubernatorial candidate for Kano State.

According to a statement released on Friday by Kwankwaso’s media office, the meeting was characterized by “warm exchanges.” However, the statement did not provide specific details regarding the agenda or the nature of their discussion.

The visit occurs as political maneuvering begins to intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections. Despite the timing of the meeting, both parties have remained silent on whether the encounter was linked to any formal political alliances or future electoral strategies.
