Jigawa State Opens 2027 Hajj Registration with N7.5 Million Deposit

The Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has officially commenced registration for the 2027 Hajj pilgrimage, announcing an initial deposit of N7.5 million for all intending pilgrims.

The Director-General of the board, Ahmed Labbo, announced the development on Wednesday during a meeting with zonal officers from the state’s 27 local government areas. He emphasized that the early start is a strategic measure to avoid the logistical difficulties encountered during previous exercises and to ensure adequate preparation for accommodation, transportation, and feeding in Saudi Arabia.

Officials highlighted that the registration window is significantly limited, with only 87 days remaining. This urgency stems from a directive by the Saudi Arabian authorities, who have set a global registration deadline for September 2026.

Labbo urged residents to act promptly to secure their slots and avoid the last-minute rush. He has directed zonal officers to intensify mobilization efforts across their respective local government areas to ensure that all allocated seats are filled before the cut-off date.

Reflecting on the challenges faced during the 2026 Hajj, the Director-General noted that late payments and documentation issues hindered operations. He expressed confidence that early registration would lead to a more efficient and hitch-free pilgrimage experience for Jigawa residents.

Labbo also credited the success of the state’s Hajj operations to the consistent support and cooperation of Governor Umar Namadi, whose administration continues to prioritize the welfare of pilgrims.
