NAFDAC Intercepts Vegetable Oil Tankers Loaded with Diesel in Lagos

The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control has intercepted two tankers in Lagos after they were found conveying diesel instead of edible vegetable oil.

According to the agency, its investigation showed that the two tankers were meant exclusively for the transportation of edible vegetable oil.

NAFDAC said loading the vehicles with diesel amounted to a violation of food safety regulations, given the risk such misuse could pose to products meant for human consumption.

The agency disclosed that the interception followed its findings on the improper use of the tankers.
