Davido Demands Transparency Over Delayed Election Uploads in Osun

Afrobeats star David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has questioned the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) over delays in uploading polling unit results to its Result Viewing (IReV) portal during Saturday’s Osun State governorship election.

In a series of statements posted on social media platform X, the singer called on the electoral umpire to uphold transparency and ensure real-time updates as collation gets underway across the state.

“INEC, it is now 2:33 p.m., yet no result has been uploaded to the IReV portal. What is the delay? Nigerians deserve transparency and timely updates,” Adeleke wrote.

The music star urged voters to remain vigilant at their respective polling stations until officials upload the official electronic EC8A result forms directly to the portal. He also advised voters to document result sheets by photographing them and encouraged polling officers to utilize secondary device cameras if primary scanners experience technical issues.

“Make sure your polling unit results are uploaded on IReV in your presence and make sure the figures are entered on eEC8A. We will follow our votes bumper to bumper,” he added, urging citizens to safeguard their ballots.

Adeleke has been an active voice during the election cycle in support of his uncle, Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking re-election under the Accord Party platform.

INEC has since commenced uploading polling unit results to the portal as sorting and counting progress across the state’s 3,763 polling units.
