Nigerian Air Force Intensifies Surveillance In Sokoto

The Nigerian Air Force, NAF, has strengthened its air presence in Sokoto State as part of intensified operations against terrorism, banditry, kidnapping and other criminal activities across the North-West.

In a statement, the Service said the increased deployment is aimed at enhancing aerial surveillance and enabling rapid response, while also providing close air support to ground forces operating in the region.

According to the NAF, the strategy is designed to locate, disrupt and degrade terrorist and bandit groups, restrict their movement and deny them freedom to operate across difficult terrain.

The initiative is part of efforts by the Chief of the Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke, to maintain a mission-ready force and strengthen coordination between the NAF, other military services and security agencies.

The Air Force said it remains committed to the use of airpower and joint operations to protect lives and property, and to support ongoing efforts to restore lasting peace and security across the North-West.
