Tinubu Celebrates Hausa People, Describes Them as Key to Nigeria’s Unity

President Bola Tinubu has praised the Hausa people for their contributions to Nigeria’s unity, cultural heritage, and national development.

In a message marking the 2026 Hausa Day celebration, the President described the Hausa community as an important force in promoting peace, progress, and national cohesion across the country.

Tinubu also highlighted the growing influence of the Hausa language, noting that it has become one of the most widely spoken languages in Africa and a significant medium for communication and trade in different parts of the world.

He congratulated members of the Hausa community on the occasion of Hausa Day, celebrated annually on August 26, and commended their role in preserving and promoting the language and culture.

Hausa Day is observed globally to celebrate the rich cultural heritage of the Hausa people and encourage the use of the language across digital and social platforms. The annual event has gained international recognition, attracting participation from communities across Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
