Katsina Govt Launches 267 Primary Health Care Centres

The Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umar Radda, together with the Honourable Minister of Health, Dr. Ali Pate, and the Executive Director/CEO of NPHCDA, Dr. Muyi Aina, has launched 267 Primary Health Care Centres (PHCs) out of the 361 wards in Katsina State.

The launch took place at Koda PHC in Charanchi Local Government Area, where a tricycle ambulance was also presented for distribution to the special PHCs established by the Katsina State Government.

The goal of the Katsina State Government is to establish a special PHC in each of the 361 wards, with the centres operating 24 hours a day to improve access to healthcare.

The centres are equipped with essential medical equipment, solar-powered electricity and water supply to support continuous healthcare services.

The initiative is part of the State Government’s efforts to reduce maternal and child mortality and provide timely emergency care and other essential primary healthcare services.

Similarly, the Governor led the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, and his delegation on a visit to the General Amadi Rimi Specialist Hospital, Katsina.

The Coordinating Minister visited the hospital’s isolation centre, where he was conducted round the facility by the Katsina State Commissioner for Health, Hon. Musa Adamu.

He inspected the facilities and assessed the services being provided at the centre.

Prof. Pate also had a stopover at the Katsina Dialysis Centre and the Imaging Centre under construction, where he inspected the facilities and ongoing work.
