Niger Govt Cancels APC Rally, Declares 3-Day Mourning for 37 Who Died in NSCDC Custody

The Niger State Government has cancelled the APC political rally slated for this Saturday in Minna, the state capital.

Governor Mohammed Umaru Bago announced the cancellation in a statement through his Chief Press Secretary, Bologi Ibrahim, saying it follows the unfortunate incident where 37 people lost their lives in the custody of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Niger State Command.

The governor commiserated with the families of those who lost their lives and declared a three-day mourning period in their honour.
