Alexander, 21, Bags 30-day Jail Term For Stealing Cooking Pot

Magistrates Adam Sadiq and Hyacinth Dolnaan of the Area Court in Jos have jailed 21-year old Obed Alexander for 30 days for stealing cooking pot.

Both judges passed the verdict on Monday after Alexander, who is a trader after he pleaded guilty to theft.

However, the convict has an option of N10,000 fine to pay to go free.

The prosecutor, Insp Monday Dabit said the case was reported on Oct. 12 at the “B” Division Police station Bukuru by Police men led by Insp Ode Isaiah .

Dabit said that the convict was accosted with the cooking pot and arrested during patrol.

The offence, he said, is punishable under Section 272 of the Plateau Penal Code law.
