Cultists Kill Youth Leader In Akwa Ibom Community

Cultists have killed the Youth President of Inen community in the OrukAnam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, Mr Hezekiah Adaiden.

The suspected cultists beheaded the victim on Sunday.

An eyewitness said the hoodlums dragged him to a corner in his compound, beat him to a coma and cut off his head, leaving his body in a pool of blood.

It was learnt that the cultists stormed the compound in the night and since they were known by the youth president, he offered them drinks.

A source explained that while they were drinking, at about 1am, another group well armed stormed the residence, and dragged the victim to a corner and killed him.

“The most annoying is that they beheaded him and escaped with his head after they tortured his wife and poured the soup which the woman cooked on her head, as they beat her mercilessly.”

The state Police spokesperson, Odiko Mcdon, described the killing of the youth president as barbaric, adding that the perpetrators would be brought to book.

Mcdon said the police are on trail of the cultists while investigation has commenced.
